Remembering one of the greats... Yves Saint Laurent

Monsieur Yves Saint Laurent, one of the few great fashion icons passed away at his home in Paris, France yesterday. The designer was battling an undisclosed illness for the past year. In his last week, his friends mentioned that he was bedridden and could not eat or talk. Saint Laurent had rarely been seen in the public eye in the last year.

At age 21, he burst onto the scene as the sensational new designer at Christian Dior, replacing the late Monsieur Dior himself. Since the beginning of his time he has help the fashion industry create iconic outfits that are still seen today. He did this by launching the "ready to wear"
in 1966 of his Rive Gauche collection. Also with "Le Smoking". Safari, & the tribal/ ethical designs. Furthermore, the were more then enough color ravishing through every collection & the bold artistry looks and stylish cuts.

For more information you about Saint Laurent you can visit timesoline or WWD. They both have slides and great information about his life. Timesonline has seven looks the epitomize his career. Yves Saint Laurent was more than a designer he was a mentor to thousands and loved by millions. Including me so when I purchase my tribute heels they will mean even more. The funny thing is I never meet him but he touched my life and I feel the warmth in my body as I write this. His Legacy will live on. RIP Yves Saint Laurent...
