Monsieur Yves Saint Laurent, one of the few great fashion icons passed away at his home in Paris, France yesterday. The designer was battling an undisclosed illness for the past year. In his last week, his friends mentioned that he was bedridden and could not eat or talk. Saint Laurent had rarely been seen in the public eye in the last year.
At age 21, he burst onto the scene as the sensational new designer at Christian Dior, replacing the late Monsieur Dior himself. Since the beginning of his time he has help the fashion industry create iconic outfits that are still seen today. He did this by launching the "ready to wear" in 1966 of his Rive Gauche collection. Also with "Le Smoking". Safari, & the tribal/ ethical designs. Furthermore, the were more then enough color ravishing through every collection & the bold artistry looks and stylish cuts.
The African Collection, 1967
