American Black Film Festival

A must do a event for this year. One of my goals this year is to go to more events that advance me as a person and help me have a better understand of my culture. Everyone culture is enriched with bounties of great knowledge and treasures!!! So, this has made it to one of my must for 2009. It should be yours too!!

Black cinema's annual retreat returns to sunny South Beach for four action-packed days of films and events. There's something for everyone: the latest independent films from around the world, industry workshops, thought-provoking discussions and exclusive parties. The ABFF, a perfect blend of business and pleasure!

Founded in 1997, the ABFF is an international market and highly competitive film showcase set in a retreat-like environment. The festival's mission is to facilitate distribution opportunities for quality films and introduce the top echelon of emerging artists to the industry at large. Since its inception, the ABFF has premiered over 500 films positioning it as the #1 film festival for Black and urban content

This appears to premier quality movies not some Soul Plane coonery. Sounds positive, I like.
